UoH hosts the 24th convocation; announces implementation of NEP for PG courses from 2024 – Telangana Today

24th Convocation of the University of Hyderabad (UoH)

Hyderabad: Chairman All India Council for Technical Education (ACITE), Prof. TG Sitharam, on Tuesday, urged students to be job creators and not job seekers.

Participating in the 24th meeting of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) organized here, Prof. Sitharam emphasized the importance of upskilling in today’s rapidly developing world, especially in the face of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence, technological advancements, etc.

Addressing the graduates, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, who is also the Principal Vice-Chancellor of UoH, emphasized on the balance between academic excellence and social responsibility.

UoH Chancellor Justice L Narasimha Reddy urged the graduates to demonstrate entrepreneurship and contribute to India’s growing global influence. He emphasized the importance of curiosity, continuous learning and supporting integration, which is consistent with the university’s core mission.

Vice-Rector of UoH prof. BJ Rao announced the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for postgraduate students from 2024 and for undergraduate students from 2022.

A total of 1,746 students received degrees, including 236 PhD students. Students were awarded as many as 164 gold medals for outstanding academic achievements, and five faculty members received the Chancellor’s Award for contributions to teaching and research.
