Police looking for person of interest in Fargo garage fires

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Fargo Police are looking for a man who may have been involved in a fire near an apartment complex in September.

The Fargo Fire Department got a call around 4:30 pm on September 16 for garages on fire at the apartments in the 4500 block of 16th Avenue South.

Once at the scene, crews worked to put out the two rows of garages burning – one at 4530 16th Avenue South, the other at 4602 16th Avenue South. Crews were able to put the fires out within 25 minutes of the first engine arriving on the scene.

Investigators say most of the damage was contained to two garages, but four others also have minor damage. No injuries were reported and no living spaces were impacted.

On October 1, Fargo Police posted pictures of a man on a bike, who they say is a person of interest in the garage fires. Anyone with information about the identity of the man in the photos is asked to contact the Fargo Police Department at 701-241-5777. Anonymous tips may also be submitted by texting ‘FARGOPD’ and the tip to 847411.
