A new warehouse and office at the former Telford newspaper site is up for sale

A new warehouse and office at the former Telford newspaper site is up for sale

Morris Property has appointed two Telford-based agents to sell commercial premises on the site of the former Shropshire Star printing works in Ketley, Telford, following planning permission.

Marketed as Ketley Point, the 45,898 sq ft industrial warehouse and office space will be built by Morris Property’s experienced construction team, renowned for delivering high quality commercial properties across Telford and Shropshire. The facility will use sustainable materials and energy-saving solutions aimed at reducing operating costs and the carbon footprint of future residents.

Liz Lowe, development director at Morris Property, said: “We are very excited about this new development. The redevelopment will bring much-needed employment opportunities to the five-acre site and continues our commitment to investment in Telford and Wrekin, creating high-quality commercial space for today’s business occupiers. We have been working closely with Telford & Wrekin Council’s Planning Department, who have actively put forward this application.”

The unit has already attracted great interest from the commercial real estate industry.

Alex Smith of Andrew Dixon & Co commented: “This development represents a fantastic opportunity for businesses looking for modern, flexible space in a high-profile commercial location and we expect strong demand for this unique offering close to junction 6 of the M54. “

Matthew Tilt from Harris Lamb added: “The new facility is a great addition to the area and we are already seeing inquiries from a variety of industries looking to settle in this well-positioned location. By combining a warehouse, office and parking facility, it is an ideal solution for companies looking for a comprehensive spatial solution.”

The project marks a new chapter in the evolution of the historic Waterloo Road, where the Shropshire Star newspaper was published for over 50 years. The newspaper’s former owners sold the site in 2022 to Morris and Company Ltd.

The development is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025, and potential tenants are now encouraged to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if quick access to the M54 is key to their operations.
