Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz faced off on Tuesday night in the first and only vice presidential debate ahead of the November election.

The debate was broadcast live from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City and was moderated by “CBS Evening News” anchor and managing editor Norah O’Donnell and “Face the Nation” moderator and CBS foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan.

How can you watch the vice presidential debate if you missed it Tuesday night?

If you missed the debate on Tuesday night, it is available to watch on the CBS News’ YouTube page.

What topics were covered during the debate?

For 90 minutes, the vice presidential picks discussed key topics including abortion, border and immigration, foreign policy, gun violence, climate change and more.

The debate ended with a clash about threats to democracy with Vance not answering Walz’s direct question about whether former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election.

Walz closed by saying that Vice President Kamala Harris is bringing “the sense of optimism” and “politics of joy,” and arguing that she will bring “real solutions” to the middle class.

Vance closed the debate with a call for a new direction in America saying, “We need change. We need a new direction. We need a president who has already done this before and did it well.”

Will there be another debate before Nov. 5?

Ace of Wednesday, Oct. 2, there are still no plans in place for another presidential or vice presidential debate prior to the election on Nov. 5.

In September, Harris accepted an invitation from CNN for a second presidential debate with Trump on Oct. 23.

However, Trump ultimately declined the invitation while speaking at a rally shortly after, telling his supporters that “it’s just too late,” as voting has already started in some states and sharing that he does not believe CNN will be as fair as they were during the June debate against President Joe Biden.
