In his book entitled Melanie” the former first lady continues: “Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to decide what she does with her body? A woman’s fundamental right to personal freedom and to her own life gives her the right to terminate her pregnancy if she so desires. Restricting a woman’s right to decide to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is tantamount to denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my adult life.
