Furious souls like First Berserker Khazan present a terrifying new boss

If you’re itchy to play First Berserker: Khazan you don’t have much time before launch to get involved in the upcoming beta. Nexon also released a new trailer for the game, which pits the titular Khazan against a two-legged dragon called Viper, and the game is absolutely terrifying. The huge dragon beast and head of the Dragon King already have visual talent that rivals the best from FromSoftware. They will be a key boss in the game at launch, although they will not be part of the closed beta.

The technical closed beta of First Berserker: Khazan will include three chapters of the game, providing up to ten hours of gameplay. The three missions include Heinmach, a path from the empire to the Stru Mountains, Storm Pass, one of the Bantu sacred sites, and Embars, the remains of a once important temple.

Now that Shadow of the Erdtree is gone, The First Berserker is one of the biggest soulslikes on my radar, so it’ll be interesting to see how it stacks up against the rest of the genre. We hope that The First Berserker: Khazan will live up to expectations. Clive from Final Fantasy 16, Ben Starr, also plays the main character, so this is on my wishlist.

The Viper boss you can see in the trailer above looks quite impressive, to say the least. He is almost part dragon, part bird, standing on two massive legs with hair sticking out of his back. While his giant sword in one hand is terrifying enough, Viper also appears to be extremely fast, rushing towards the hero in the trailer rather than stomping as one might expect from his appearance. It follows the steps of Khazan, the player’s character, before they face each other at the end.

The closed beta for First Berserker: Khazan will run from Friday, October 11, 2024, to Sunday, October 20, 2024. While the full game is scheduled to release on PC, this beta is only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. To gain access, you can register on the game’s official website, just remember to do it before Sunday, October 6.
