Study: New York among the best states to be single

A recent study by our friends at WalletHub looked at dating data with the ultimate goal of finding out which ones places just make dating easier than others. WalletHub experts have gathered information about each state’s population and the options available to singles (restaurants, attractions, etc.) who want to date in their area.

All this information was assigned a numerical value, resulting in each state in the union receiving its own result. Based on three main criteria (Dating Opportunities, Dating Economics AND Romance and fun), The second largest state in which to be single was New York.

New York was found to have the fourth-highest percentage of single adults in the country, which contributed to the state’s good overall ranking. When it comes to the three main criteria listed above, here’s where New York ranks among its other competitors:

• Dating opportunities: 1
• Dating Economy: 50
• Romance and running: 2

The only state deemed better for single people was California. Golden State finished 1st Romance and funand 2nd century Dating opportunities. On the other hand, life is tough for singles in West Virginia, and the state was ranked the 50th best state to be single this year.
