Francisco Lindor interrupts an interview with ESPN to celebrate the Mets’ wild card

Francisco Lindor wasn’t going to let anything stop him from celebrating.

Mets players abruptly ended their postgame interview with ESPN to take a team photo right after a thrilling come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Brewers in the wild-card final on Wednesday night in Milwaukee.

“If you see there, I’m about to take a team photo — I have to go,” a breathless Lindor told the broadcast team in the studio. “Love you. Mets Nation, we did it – I love you!”

He then took off his headset and triumphantly ran to his teammates – jumping and jumping with joy – to take a photo in their “October Ready” T-shirts.

Lindor often led the Mets in the second half of the season, fighting through a back injury to get back into the lineup.

He provided stellar defense in a three-game wild-card set to solidify his position as team MVP, but on Thursday he turned the spotlight over to teammate Pete Alonso, whose three-run homer in the top of the ninth inning gave the Mets the win — and a three-run lead. 2 – to send Amazin’s to the NLDS.
