James Corden spreads the love in an £870 Gucci jumper, adding the finishing touches to Gavin And Stacey’s Christmas range

James Corden tried to spread the love by wearing an £870 Gucci sweater on the set of Gavin & Stacey on Friday.

The director, 46, who plays Smithy in the hit BBC series, was in high spirits as he put the finishing touches to the hotly anticipated episode.

James donned a navy blue crew-neck sweater with a tiger motif and the word “Love” embroidered on the back.

The actor appeared in great spirits as the end of filming for the beloved series neared.

James, who often steps out in head-to-toe Gucci, teamed his casual outfit with jeans and sneakers.

As he wandered around the set, the former Late Late Show host waved mightily in the distance.

Fans have already been given hints about the wedding that will take center stage in the Christmas special after the last episode ended with Nessa’s (Ruth Jones) shocking proposal.

Last month, the cast was spotted boarding the famous Dave’s buses to head to church for the big day, but the bride-to-be herself, Nessa, was noticeably absent.

Viewers are eager to see if they will finally get the happy ending they were hoping for in the final episode, which will air on Christmas Day.

Smithy and Nessa famously had an on-off relationship during the BBC series, and the show’s 2019 Christmas special ended on a cliffhanger after she proposed.

In scenes filmed last month, wedding guests boarded a bus to the church.

But in a humorous twist on fan-favorite antics, the wedding party hit an unexpected snag, getting stuck in the mud on the way to the ceremony.

Spectators watched as the party was towed from the field, adding some real comedy to the day’s events.

Among the people who could be seen on board the bus were Joanna and Mateusz. They were joined by Larry and Melanie Walters as Stacey’s mother, Gwen West.

This is the final stage of filming for the long-awaited Christmas special episode.

Last week the cast confirmed they had finished filming scenes on the famous Trinity Street, which forms the backdrop to the homes of Stacey and Gavin, her mother Gwen and uncle Bryn.

“You didn’t see anything because we were indoors, which shows you are truly dedicated fans of the show and we hope you won’t be disappointed on Christmas Day when everything is revealed,” Ruth told fans.

“This is our farewell to Barry and Trinity Street, so you won’t see us here anymore, but we’ve had a great 17 years, it’s been fantastic.”

James added: “Thank you so much everyone, see you soon.”
