Garth Brooks compared to Diddy after the lawsuit: the accuser’s lawyer

After Garth Brooks condemned the allegations of sexual assault against him, the attorney representing his accuser spoke out – citing the name of another famous musician accused of sexual assault, Sean “Diddy” Combsin a new statement.

“I can’t participate in settlement discussions, but Brooks’ suggestion that he doesn’t want to pay millions is simply not true” – Lawyer Douglas H. Wigdor says “Nas” weekly. in a statement on Friday, October 4. “Sean Combs and Garth Brooks appear to be using the same public relations team to target legitimate victims.”

Wigdor and his law partners filed the lawsuit on Thursday, October 3, on behalf of an anonymous client called Jane Roe. In court documents obtained by UsRoe claimed she was raped by Brooks, 62, in 2019 after she was hired as a hair stylist for the singer and his wife, Trisha Yearwood.

Brooks denied the allegations the same day, noting in a statement to: Us“For the past two months, I have been relentlessly harassed by threats, lies, and dire stories about my future if I didn’t write a multi-million dollar check. It was like someone was waving a loaded gun in my face.”

The country singer continued: “Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, this means that I am admitting to behavior that I am incapable of – ugly actions that no human should ever do to another. … I want to continue our good deeds in the future. It breaks my heart that these wonderful things are now in question. I trust the system, I am not afraid of the truth and I am not the person they painted me as.

Brooks did not address Wigdor’s statement Friday and the apparent comparison to 54-year-old Diddy. Us asked for a comment.

Meanwhile, Wigdor knows Diddy’s legal problems very well. He was also a representative attorney Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) when she filed a lawsuit against Diddy. In November 2023, Cassie, 37, sued the disgraced music mogul for repeated sexual assaults and physical violence during their relationship. Diddy vehemently denied the allegations and within a day they settled the lawsuit out of court.

After Cassie’s lawsuit, many others came forward with similar accusations against Diddy. Before he was arrested last month, he denied all the claims.

In September, news broke that Diddy had been arrested in New York on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. In the 14-page indictment, the rapper allegedly “abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him” for decades. Diddy was also accused of using these acts to further “his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.”

Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges before a judge denied bail. He was held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his trial.

“We are disappointed in the decision to continue what we believe to be unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office” – Diddy’s lawyer Marek Agnifilo he said “Nas” weekly. in a statement. “Sean “Diddy” Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, family-loving and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the black community.”

Agnifilo added: “He is an imperfect person, but not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has merely cooperated with the investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week to await these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you know all the facts. These are the actions of an innocent man who has nothing to hide and is looking forward to clearing his name in court.”
