What can we expect from the return of “Yellowstone”?

It’s been a while since we last logged in to the Duttons, so it’s understandable that you need a quick refresher.

First half Yellowstone Season 5 ended with various members of the Dutton family arguing. Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) has requested the removal of his father, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), from the office of the Governor of Montana. His sister, Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), saw this as an act of war and reacted accordingly. In a tense and violent confrontation, both threatened to reveal huge secrets that could destroy the other. Meanwhile, Jamie seemed to be seriously considering hiring someone to murder his sister.

Who will win in this war between the Duttons? It’s anyone’s guess. Plot details of the upcoming episodes are strictly confidential. Even the show’s cast members have no idea what’s going on, thanks to edited scripts.

Will Kevin Costner appear in new episodes?

Kelly Reilly and Kevin Costner in ‘Yellowstone’ | The most important network

NO. We know one thing about the ending Yellowstone Season 5 is such that Costner will not be involved. The actor left the series because he wanted to spend more time working on his Western epic Horizon. Conflicts with creator Taylor Sheridan may also have played a role in his departure.

Does Costner’s departure mean that Jamie ends his villainous turn and his father is killed? Maybe. But John Dutton has no shortage of enemies, so it’s possible someone else will decide to kill him before Jamie can make his move. Or the farmer-turned-politician might have met a less brutal end due to a heart attack or a recurrence of cancer. While we’re not counting on a happy ending for John, a peaceful ride into the sunset is always possible.

Will ‘Yellowstone’ really end with season 5?

In May 2023, Paramount Network announced this Yellowstone will conclude with the second half of Season 5. The news comes amid reports of Costner’s reluctance to devote significant time to filming new episodes.

The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023 delayed production of the final episodes of the series, which did not resume until the summer of 2024. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that season 5 may not be the last for Yellowstone Despite everything. According to Deadline, in late August, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser were in talks to return for a potential season 6. However, Paramount Network has not officially announced a sixth season Yellowstone.
