A win would benefit both the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, and they happen to be playing each other in week five.

Sunday’s clash at SoFi Stadium provides a chance for both teams to get their season back in the right direction. The Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings 31-29 last week after the return from injury of point guard Jordan Love, who scored 22 points in the fourth quarter after a slow start. The Rams lost to the Chicago Bears 24-18 after an encouraging Week 3 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Los Angeles will once again play with a depleted receiving corps after Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua suffered early-season injuries, and the team continues to try to compensate defensively for the loss of Aaron Donald, who retired. Green Bay, which will play its first game at SoFi Stadium this week, will be without winger Christian Watson due to injury.

There are also some connections with the coaching staff. Packers coach Matt LaFleur was the Rams’ offensive coordinator under coach Sean McVay in 2017. LaFleur’s brother, Mike, is currently the Rams’ offensive coordinator under McVay.
