Emmerdale fans were kept in suspense this week as it seemed like a chance for Tom to finally win was finally on the horizon. The villain’s missing tablet contains ironclad evidence that he has been spying on Belle with hidden cameras, so his mission is to recover it before the police find it.

Spoilers for next week’s episodes reveal that Tom actually recovered the tablet (boo!) and immediately set about breaking it, thinking he was alone in King’s house.

Tom fails to notice that Jimmy’s young son, Carl, is watching him from a distance as he destroys the evidence. But could this work against him in the long run? Could Carl confide in Nicola, who clearly already has doubts about Tom? We already know there’s going to be a rift between Jimmy and Nicola in the coming weeks as they start arguing over Tom…

Coronation Street star interviewed by Emrhys Cooper Digital spy at the Inside Soap Awards, where he first mentioned his upcoming return to the show.

The ruthless cult leader Rowan has been absent since his arrest and charges of blackmail and fraud, but Emrhys has been filming several new scenes recently.

He told us: “(Rowan) isn’t quite done with his naughty business yet. There may be a few more twists and turns, so keep watching and you’ll see soon.”

EastEnders announced the casting of Teddy Mitchell’s ex-wife Nicola earlier this week.

The role will be played by Laura Doddington, who previously appeared in Doctors, City of Holby AND Cuckoos of Midwich.

Nicola shows up uninvited in Walford later that autumn – much to the shock of Teddy, who is trying to start over with his family.

Laura said this week: “Nicola is a complex woman who appears like a Tasmanian devil!

“She is strong and completely unapologetic about who she is. I am lucky to have my Mitchell boys, Roland, Elijah and Lewis, because they have taken me under their wing and we already feel like family. I love every second so far.”

Coronation Street star Dame Maureen Lipman also caught up Digital spy this week on the Inside Soap Awards, which gives us the opportunity to ask about her upcoming hiatus from the show.

Following the news that she would be taking a sabbatical at the end of the year, Dame Maureen promised that the door would remain open for her return.

She told us: “The idea is that I won’t be killed, beaten or thrown into the Manchester Canal. I just withdraw – something happens to me and I drift away, but always with the option of coming back.

“Because you don’t want to lose… I don’t want to lose Evelyn! You know that song “I Know Him So Well”?

We didn’t see much of Mary Goskirk Emmerdale recently, but it looks like that will change at the end of the year when a new family storyline begins.

I’m talking to Digital spy at the awards ceremony, Louise Jameson – who plays Mary – explained: “Clearly our November is going to be a busy one. I know it will be a family story.

“It will be very intense. It will probably last all year long. But I’m afraid there’s nothing more I can say!”

The Dingles now know exactly what Tom is capable of Emmerdalebut his vicious attack on Vinny remains a mystery.

We touched on this issue on the red carpet while chatting with fan favorite Lisa Riley, who plays Vinny’s mom, Mandy.

Clearly wanting to tell us more, but desperately not wanting to give away any spoilers, Lisa joked: “That will probably be revealed in the future! Mandy’s cricket bat is very present in her life. Whether or not he hits him is another story, we’ll have to wait and see.”

HollyoaksJames Nightingale is gone but not forgotten and in upcoming episodes his husband Ste Hay will be convinced he is still alive.

Kieron Richardson, who plays Ste, shared the rumors Digital spy on awards.

He explained: “We’re getting to the point where Ste has a sort of psychosis. “He can’t accept what happened and thinks James is still alive.”

However, hinting that someone may be manipulating Ste’s confusion, Kieron added: “Someone has something to do with this…”
