Controversial Married at First Sight groom Harrison Boon announces his engagement to girlfriend Gina Ha by proposing in a helicopter over Uluru

On Sunday, the controversial Married at First Sight groom shared the good news in an Instagram post.

The 34-year-old posted photos of a delighted Gina showing off her diamond ring as the pair flew in a helicopter high above Uluru in the Northern Territory.

“For a brief moment, Gina was wearing the tallest rock in Uluru,” he wrote in the caption alongside the photos.

Once they were on solid ground, the couple shared a sweet kiss to celebrate their engagement.

Gina, 29, and Harrison have been dating since early last year, and in March 2023, he introduced her to his four-year-old son August.

Harrison split from his on-screen “wife” Bronte Schofield before the series ended last year.

The 28-year-old brutally dumped her husband Harrison after their honesty contest challenge went horribly wrong.

Boon, who rose to fame on the 2023 series, sparked fury on social media earlier this year when he described MAFS’ list of single brides as “unfit to marry.”

Fellow MAFS stars accused him of “misogyny” after he coined a “disgusting” term and posted about the “danger zone” of dating for women of a certain age.

On Instagram, Harrison shared screenshots of the former MAFS fiancées’ dating profiles and posts about finding a partner, including those featuring his on-screen “ex-wife” Bronte and Sandy Jawanda.

He then shared an article about The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield discussing her recent breakup and wrote alongside the post, “Another unmarried (crying, laughing emoji).”

Harrison also shared a screenshot of MAFS’ Lyndall Grace tearfully announcing her split from her boyfriend of five months, and wrote alongside the photo: ‘I feel bad for you, Lyndall.

“At least you didn’t embarrass yourself by saying over and over how much better he was than Cam,” he added sarcastically.

“Now you can join the rest of the unmarried on Hinge,” he added.

His slew of controversial comments sparked outrage online, with a host of former MAFS stars taking to social media to react to his “sexist” posts.
