A Gucci employee-turned-influencer makes a huge blunder about his corporate life

A Gucci employee-turned-influencer has been criticized after he made a blatant gaffe in an Instagram post.

Ella McFadin told her 241,000 followers that she planned to use her first job at the fashion brand in the article’s caption to “climb the corporate ladder,” not a ladder.

Under a photo of herself sipping a dry gin martini at a bar, McFadin wrote: “I worked at Gucci as my first job out of college and planned to work my way up to that second corporate position and stay in fashion.”

“I couldn’t be more grateful that I’m not doing this,” she continued in a second caption under the same photo.

“I made a very small salary and worked with some nasty older women!

“But I learned a lot, so I’m grateful for the experience. It definitely instilled a good work ethic in me.”

Internet users quickly pointed out the error. One person wrote: “Spelling is not always an indicator of intelligence, but sometimes it is too lol.”

“How did these people get into college, let alone graduate and get a job?” another person got angry.

“I forgive grammatical mistakes, but it’s definitely a sign of carelessness and if social media is your job, you shouldn’t be careless!” one person agreed.

Another commenter went on a longer spiel: “To me it’s a more off-putting combination of 1. Not great spelling COMBINED with 2. Hubris and a lack of self-awareness that you’re not good at spelling to the point that you’re not good at spelling check your spelling or guess independently.

– It’s also not necessarily about spelling. He uses the completely wrong word. If you know what the latter means, you know it doesn’t make sense in this context.

“Also, influencers talking about their work ethic but not checking if they read their posts in terms of “work” is comical.”
