Alexis Mac Allister was withdrawn at half-time against Palace due to injury and was replaced by Dominik Szoboszlai.

As reported by Mundo Albiceleste, Mac Allister arrived with the Argentine national team in Miami ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifications.

On Thursday, Argentina will face Venezuela away, and on October 16 they will host Bolivia.

After the match against Palace Liverpool, manager Arne Slot admitted that he was not sure whether Mac Allister would join the Argentine squad.

Argentina is top of the CONMEBOL qualifying table, having won six of eight matches and suffered two losses.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Slot said: “He left due to injury. But it’s hard for me to judge how bad it is at the moment.

“He could have continued playing as you saw because it didn’t happen a second before half-time.

But he felt it a little too much and said, “I don’t think it’s a good idea to keep playing because you never know if I’ll make things worse.”

Mac Allister scored three goals in 33 appearances for Argentina and was part of the team that won the 2022 World Cup and the Copa America this year.

The 25-year-old’s importance to Liverpool is underlined by the fact that he has played in all seven of the club’s Premier League games this season.

Liverpool suffered a more serious injury against Palace, with goalkeeper Alisson sidelined with a suspected hamstring problem that could keep him sidelined for several weeks.
