Manchester United have been inundated with offers to film a behind-the-scenes documentary about their planned revival

According to The Sun, several production companies have approached Manchester United on behalf of streaming giants Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ with offers to make a behind-the-scenes documentary about the club’s planned revival under new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Clubs such as Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have made documentaries about them through Amazon in recent years, and streaming companies believe that producing a documentary about Man United is a dream ticket.

Amazon has also helped produce documentaries on Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney, and released one covering the ten days leading up to the Red Devils’ 1999 Champions League triumph that sealed the Treble.

Man United have yet to win the Premier League title since 2013, but Ratcliffe wants to make sure they win it very soon by investing £1.25 billion in the Old Trafford club in January.

Man United chief executive Omar Berrada has told staff the club’s aim is to win the Premier League by 2028, the club’s 150th anniversary, and a documentary detailing everything that goes on behind the scenes in the build-up to another league title will be huge.

However, the Red Devils have many other problems to solve right now, and making a documentary is not a project high on their priority list.

They must ensure their fortunes on the pitch improve after another unimpressive start to the campaign under manager Erik ten Hag.

The proposed £2 billion redevelopment of Old Trafford is also currently a top priority for Man United.

They have their own production company with an in-house media team that constantly releases behind-the-scenes footage during training sessions, match days and press conferences, and the footage may be sold to a third party if an offer is accepted in the future.
