Steve Burton has been a soap opera star for over thirty years. The actor has appeared on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives, and its spin-off, Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. However, his most memorable role was as Jason on General Hospital from 1991 until its exit in 2012.

The actor eventually returned to the daytime series in 2017, but was fired in 2021 for refusing to get a COVID-19 vaccine. At the time, Steve Burton addressed his fans on Instagram, writing, “This is also a personal freedom issue for me. I don’t think anyone should lose their livelihood over this, but, that being said, you know me, I will always be grateful for my time on General Hospital.”

He added: “I love this place. I grew up there and I grew up with some of you, so I’ll always be grateful. I believe when one door closes, many doors open.”

The recently fired actor has found himself embroiled in fresh controversy after reports surfaced that his partner of 23 years, fitness trainer Sheree Burton, was pregnant with someone else’s child.

The actor took to Instagram to address the controversy and announced the end of his 23-year relationship after he alleged that his pregnant wife was carrying someone else’s baby. At the time, the actor wrote, “I wanted to clarify something. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced she is expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine.”

Steve Burton added: “We are still co-parents to our three beautiful children. We would appreciate some privacy at this time.”

Shortly after being fired from General Hospital, Burton joined the cast of Days of Our Lives in 2023. He reprised his role as Michaels for the first time since leaving the show in 1988. Earlier this year, Steve Burton announced his plans to return to General Hospital.
