Behind many good sportspeople, there is always a strong partner, and for Novak Djokovic, it’s no different.

The tennis superstar has been married to his wife Jelena for ten years, and she has been there with him through the greatest years of his career.

The couple have been together since 2005, so it’s been a long love story.

She is also the mother of Djokovic’s children.

Who is Novak Djokovic’s wife?

Jelena Djokovic, previously known as Ristic, has been with her man for 19 years.

She is the director of the couple’s charity, the Novak Djokovic Foundation.

The charity’s purpose is to help children in Serbia achieve their potential, with a particular focus on education.

The duo were engaged in September 2013 and tied the knot in July 2014.

Since then, they have been happily married, and in July 2024, Djokovic paid tribute to Jelena on her birthday with a nice Instagram post.

He said: “Happy birthday to the greatest wife, mother, friend, partner, leader, teacher, inspiration I could wish for. My double partner for life, Jelena.”

How many children do they have?

Jelena and Novak have two children together.

Stefan was born in October 2014, just months after the pair’s marriage.

Their daughter, Tara, followed in September 2017.

Tara has recently started learning to play the violin, and her dad is now paying tribute to the fact that at the end of the matches he wins.

In January 2024, his family couldn’t make the Australian Open, so Djokovic paid tribute to them in an emotional interview.

“Dads should play with their children all the time. I mean, that’s like my favourite part of the day; just when I have their attention and when they have my attention and we’re fully present, we play and we invent stuff. It’s the best.

“I’m getting emotional right now, I miss them, I’ll see them in a few days.”

So Djokovic clearly has a very supportive and caring family behind him.
