‘Severance’ Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed, Still A Long Way Off

‘Severance’ Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed, Still A Long Way Off

Apple TV+ just announced that after a few different teasers, Severance season 2 has a premiere date. It will be:

January 17, 2025

The good news is that there is finally a known date, but it was originally assumed to be 2024. And even with teasers and a trailer already released, it is still a matter of six months, which will extend the already very long break between seasons.

When it finally does arrive, from the February 18, 2022, premiere date of Severance Season 1 to January 16, 2025, it will be a little less than three years. Even in this era of 2-2.5 years between some seasons of streaming shows, that’s just an incredibly long time, and it’s really tested fans’ patience. Yes, there was a writers’ strike and supposedly some behind-the-scenes drama, but if this show is going to continue, it really can’t do that again. It’s not even a show that requires endless amounts of CG work like many of Apple’s other sci-fi shows, like For All Mankind or Foundation.

We have a synopsis for Season 2, which you can read here:

“In Season 2, Mark (played by Scott) and his friends learn the dire consequences of toying with the separation barrier, leading them further down a path of misery. The second season reunites an all-star cast, including Emmy nominee Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Emmy winner John Turturro, Oscar winner Christopher Walken and Oscar and Emmy winner Patricia Arquette, with new series regular Sarah Bock.”

Well… that’s not much, so watch the trailer for further clues:

Well, that’s… not much to look forward to. A 40-second trailer with five seconds of quick shots and one line of dialogue. Someone riding a motorcycle somewhere? I don’t know. Either way, I’m not surprised they’re keeping it a secret, but we’ll probably see more promos in the next six months.

Six months…man. I don’t want to see another three year gap after this because my two year old will be in high school when this is over if this keeps up. Hopefully things will improve from here.
