Manchester City star Jack Grealish has reached out to Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and offered him kind words despite Gareth Southgate leaving him out of England’s squad for UEFA Euro 2024.

Grealish, who has 36 caps for England, stays in touch with the squad via social media.

Grealish recently sent Ramsdale an encouraging message on Instagram. After the Arsenal goalkeeper posted a photo celebrating England’s win over Switzerland with the caption “live for these moments” and a heart emoji, Grealish responded with a glowing message of praise.

The £100million player wrote: “what a guy, one of the best son”, praising Ramsdale’s professionalism in the No2 goalkeeper role behind Jordan Pickford.

Despite losing his starting position to David Raya last season – which prompted Ramsdale to consider leaving Arsenal – the 26-year-old remains upbeat, continuing to support Pickford and celebrate England’s success, as evidenced by his reaction to the win over Switzerland.

Ramsdale is reportedly keen to leave the Emirates Stadium to secure his No1 spot elsewhere, with Arsenal also open to the move and already looking for a new back-up goalkeeper to back up Raya.

The Gunners are demanding a fee of around £50million for the England international this summer. Newcastle United were reportedly interested in his services but have since withdrawn their interest due to the price and wage package.

Ramsdale has also been shown interest by Chelsea, who would like to take him to Stamford Bridge as new manager Enzo Maresca prepares to seek redemption with the Blues next season.

One potential candidate linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium is Wolves’ Daniel Bentley, with The Sun reporting that Arsenal are preparing a bid. There is also interest in Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow, who helped his side finish second in the Eredivisie last season.
