Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’s Long-Awaited Sequel Is Netflix’s Best Movie

“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” is currently the most popular movie on Netflix, according to the platform’s public rating system.

After decades in hell, the fourth installment of the “Beverly Hills Cop” franchise premiered directly to the streaming service on July 3. Eddie Murphy reprises his lead role as Detective Axel Foley, and the rest of the cast includes Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot.

“Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” follows Foley as he returns to Beverly Hills to help his daughter and ex-girlfriend. The sequel, “Beverly Hills Cop III,” also introduces new characters played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Kevin Bacon.

Another cop movie is currently the most popular movie on Hulu.

In Muzzle, Aaron Eckhart plays a Los Angeles police officer whose partner, a police dog, is killed in a shootout. This dangerous mission forces him to find those responsible for the crime and uncover a sinister conspiracy.

Continuing with the theme of action-packed movies dominating streaming services, the most popular film on Max is “Godzilla x Kong: New Empire.”

The monster movie joined the platform on July 4, just a few months after its March 29 theatrical release. While “Godzilla x Kong: New Empire” didn’t receive the same positive reviews as last year’s “Godzilla Minus One,” it was still a box office hit and became the third-highest-grossing film of 2024.

Space Cadet premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 4. Emma Roberts stars in the new comedy about a party girl who decides to follow her dream of becoming an astronaut and, thanks to a sophisticated NASA application, gets her into a training program.

Tom Hopper, Poppy Liu and Gabrielle Union also starred in “Space Cadet”, which received mostly negative reviews from critics.

The 2023 biographical thriller “Tetris” is currently a popular movie on Apple TV+.

Based on true events, the film tells the story of American video game salesman Hank Rogers and his race to license and patent Tetris, a journey that takes him to Soviet Russia in 1988. “Tetris” stars Taron Egerton, Nikita Yefremov, Sofia Lebedeva and Anthony Boyle.
