Kevin Hart Sued by JT Jackson’s Ex-Friend Over Apology Over Sex Tape Scandal

Kevin Hart Sued by JT Jackson’s Ex-Friend Over Apology Over Sex Tape Scandal

Kevin Hart now he’s facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit from his former friend JT Jacksonlinked to the high-profile 2017 sex tape racketeering scandal. Jackson claims Hart failed to honor the terms of the settlement, which included a public apology.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jackson claims that Hart initially made baseless accusations about his involvement in filming and distributing the infamous sex tape featuring Hart and Montia Sabbag. Jackson insists that they reached a settlement in 2021 in which Hart agreed to issue a public apology to help restore Jackson’s reputation.

However, Jackson claims that Hart deviated from the agreed statement during his public apology, omitting a particularly key part in which Hart was to state that Jackson was not involved in any extortion conspiracy. Jackson believes that this deviance has made it harder for him to repair his public image and career.

All told, Jackson faced four charges related to the tape, including attempted extortion, attempted concealment and sale of stolen property, unauthorized use of an identification card and identity theft. Those charges were eventually dropped.

Jackson is suing Hart for breach of contract, infliction of emotional distress and more, seeking at least $12 million in damages. He claims the ordeal has caused significant emotional and professional setbacks for both him and his wife, exacerbated by his broken relationship with Hart.

Jackson shared with TMZ, “It’s been three years since Kevin promised to help clear my name, but to no avail. So here we are. Through this lawsuit, I want to restore my reputation, demand accountability, and make sure injustices like this don’t happen to others.”
