Olivia Munn and John Mulaney Get Married in Private Ceremony

Olivia Munn and John Mulaney recently married in a private ceremony.

People confirmed the wedding and noted that the couple wed at a friend’s home in upstate New York. Only a best man and the couple’s two-year-old son, Malcolm, were reportedly in attendance.

People detailed timeline of Munn and Mulaney’s relationship, with the outlet first reporting that they were a couple in May 2021. In September, Mulaney revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers that he and Munn expected.

Malcolm was born in November 2021. Mulaney shared the first photo of his son on Christmas Eve 2021. He captioned the photo, “Meet Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tried a seltzer yet. I am so in love with him and everything he has to offer. Merry Christmas.”

Munn’s Fight Against Breast Cancer

While Munn and Mulaney are enjoying being parents to young Malcolm, Munn has also been battling breast cancer privately. She revealed her diagnosis on Instagram in March.

Munn wrote in the caption of the post, “I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. I hope that by sharing this I can help others find comfort, inspiration, and support in their own journey.”

She shared more details about her diagnosis in a slideshow on her Instagram post. Munn wrote, in part: “In February 2023, to proactively take care of my health, I took a genetic test that checks for 90 different cancer genes. All the results were negative, including BRCA (the most well-known breast cancer gene). My sister Sara also had negative results. We called each other and high-fived over the phone. I also had a normal mammogram that same winter. Two months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.”

Munn further noted, “I’ve had four surgeries in the last ten months. I’ve spent more days in bed than I can even count, and I’ve learned more about cancer, cancer treatment, and hormones than I could have ever imagined. To my surprise, I only cried twice. I guess I felt like there was time to cry. My focus narrowed, and I put aside any emotions that I felt would get in the way of my clarity.”

Among the surgeries Munn underwent was a double mastectomy that lasted 10 hours. The mastectomy came after it was discovered that Munn had Luminal B cancer, an aggressive form of cancer, in both breasts.

Munn thanked her friends and family “for loving me through it all.” She especially thanked Mulaney “for the nights he spent researching what each surgery and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect.” Munn wrote that Mulaney also made sure to put framed photos of Malcolm by her hospital bed “so they would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”
