Shahee Jump, 47, remains incarcerated in the Coffee County Jail on various charges including kidnapping, burglary, escape, unlawful confinement and a host of others after a domestic dispute on Bethel Road that occurred late in the afternoon of July 6, 2024.

Officers responded to a call at 1189 Bethel Road Lot 317 regarding a domestic dispute, according to a Coffee County Sheriff’s Office report. The initial call indicated that Jump allegedly forced entry into the home and abducted his wife. Officers located Jump’s vehicle, a white Chevrolet Avalanche, and gave chase.

At one point during the chase, the report states Jump was on True Love Road and attempted to turn onto Ben Carver Road when he began sliding into the ditch. The pursuing officer took the opportunity to end the pursuit and struck the Avalanche, pushing it into the ditch. When the truck stopped, the report states Jump exited the Avalanche and began running. The deputy chased Jump on foot and eventually caught up to him.

Once officers arrested Jump, they were able to figure out exactly what happened. According to the report, the victim said she was at home with Jump when he “started hitting her.” She escaped and ran to her mother’s house where she called 911. While she was on the phone with 911, the report says Jump showed up at the house and gained entry. He then allegedly grabbed her by the arm, forced her out of the house, then put her in the Avalanche and sped off. Witnesses corroborated the victim’s account of the incident.

Jump was charged with several traffic violations, including assault and battery (family violence – 1st offense), obstruction, burglary (1st degree), kidnapping, unlawful confinement and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement. He was transported to the jail where he remains.
