Senator Karla May celebrates bills being signed by governor

JEFFERSON CITY — Sen. Karla May, a St. Louis Democrat, proudly celebrates the signing of Senate bills 754, 756AND 872 Tuesday (7/9) Missouri Governor. Through her diligent work, Senator May was able to amend these three bills to include her own legislation and improve existing language.

Senate Bill 754 includes Senator May’s bill Senate Bill No. 760which adds firefighters, 911 dispatchers, paramedics and emergency medical technicians as eligible recipients under the Critical Stress Incident Management Program. The program was established in 2021 after being proposed by Senator May.

Senate Bill 756 modifies the property tax credit that the General Assembly passed in 2023. Senator May amended the bill during floor debate to remove provisions that would have prevented some seniors from receiving the property tax credit.

Senate Bill 872 includes Senator May’s proposal Senate Bill No. 1411which extended the expiration of the Uniform Small Wireless Facility Deployment Act from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2029. This extension will provide stability between broadband providers and cities so that access for Missourians can continue to be strengthened and expanded.
