Delayed theatrical release of “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter Two”

Kevin Costner Horizon: American Saga Chapter 2 will no longer be released on August 16. This information comes after an unsuccessful attempt Chapter 1 compared to July 4th box office results.

However, given that the film is mainly watched by people over the age of 50 and the fact that these viewers are reluctant to go to cinemas, the filmmakers wanted to give this audience time to get acquainted with the film for the first time, regardless of whether it is at home or in the cinema. Chapter 1 will be released digitally on July 16. It will still be shown in cinemas.

There are currently no plans to send the sequel directly to Max. There may be a theatrical plan for the day and date Chapter 2but it is still being assessed. The multiple Oscar winner financed most of the film himself, and is also responsible for advertising and customer service.


A New Line representative said in a statement: “Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema have decided not to release Horizon: Chapter 2” August 16 to give viewers a better chance to see the first part Horizon in the coming weeks, including on PVOD and MAX. We thank our exhibition partners for their continued support as audiences across the U.S. discover the film in its theatrical release.”
