Meagan Good Talks Jonathan Majors’ Relationship Amid Legal Issues

Jonathan Majors is Meagan Good’s man, and she sticks by his side.

Good, who is promoting her latest film “Divorce Written in Black,” told the “Today” show on Tuesday that “every friend advised” her against dating Majors during the “Creed III” actor’s trial, after host Hoda Kotb asked, “Has any of your friends advised you, he’s in legal trouble, why don’t you wait? Why don’t you wait and see how it all plays out?”

Majors, 34, was arrested in New York in March 2023 and accused of assaulting his girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in the backseat of a car. In December, he was convicted of misdemeanor assault and harassment but acquitted of a misdemeanor charge of intentional assault and harassment. Majors has pleaded not guilty.

Good explained to Kotb and Jennie Bush, “At the end of the day, one thing I know is that I can always look at myself in the mirror, when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, when I move to the beat of my own drum — I can always look back and say, ‘I’m proud of this.’ No matter what happens, I have peace in my heart and harmony in my heart.”

The actor was sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence intervention program but avoided a prison sentence.

He and Good, 42, began rumors of their relationship in May 2023, and the following month, she began attending his trial in Manhattan Criminal Court.

The “Harlem” star added that while she takes “everyone’s opinion and advice into account,” she doesn’t base her decisions on “what someone else says.”

“I’m the one who has to live my life. I’m the one who has to go to heaven one day, praying, and giving an account to God of what I’ve done,” she continued. “So I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. And I want to live the life that I want to live.”

Speaking about their relationship, Good gushed: “The support we were able to give each other, pouring ourselves into each other, the honest conversations, the love, the respect, just the care and concern, it was really wonderful.”

Good and Majors’ relationship continues to grow following her divorce from DeVon Franklin in 2021 after nearly a decade of marriage.

The actress said her divorce motivated her to star in Tyler Perry’s latest film to help people “feel seen” during this time and “give them strength.”

Meagan Good says Jonathan Majors talked her out of dating him

Good opened up about her relationship with Majors in an interview with People magazine published on Wednesday.

Despite the “instant chemistry” between them, Good said Majors had some doubts about their budding relationship after the pair were spotted out and about together.

“He really tried to convince me not to be with him. He wanted to protect me,” Good said. “I said to myself, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with the Black Lion. And I grew up in this business.

“The things I’ve been through have given me the space to love other people, no matter what. So when we met, I thought, this is going to be a lot, but you’ve got the right person.”

Although the actress admitted it was “difficult” to watch Majors deal with her legal troubles, Good remained enthusiastic about her relationship with the former Marvel star.

“We go out when we have to, but we really exist in this bubble, and it’s great,” Good said. “It’s crazy because even with everything that’s going on, I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time.”
