As temperatures continue to rise across Texas, 7-Eleven is offering customers a way to cool down: free Slurpees.

When is Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven?

Slurpee Day falls on Thursday, July 11. The chain celebrates its 97th birthday on this day.t birthday, a day that also commemorated “National Slurpee Day,” when 7-Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes stores give away free small Slurpees if they have any in stock. The promotion has been going on for nearly two decades.

How to Get a Free Slurpee After July 11th

Customers can also sign up for 7Rewards, the chain’s online points redemption system, to receive an additional free Slurpee between July 12t and 31saint. 7Rewards is also hosting a “Snacks or Sips for a Year” contest where customers will have a chance to win free Slurpees or Snacks for a year by purchasing certain products or using the 7Rewrds app.

Slurpees help support Children’s Miracle Network Hospital

This year, 7-Eleven has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to host Free Slurpee Day. The drinks will be served in cups designed in partnership with the hospital, and customers will have the option to make a donation to CMNH upon check-out.

During the promotion, stores will also offer the limited-time MTN DEW Freedom Fusion flavor, but all regular flavors will also be available for Free Slurpee Day.

7-Eleven stores offer a wide range of products for customers looking to escape the Texas heat. Other limited-edition treats will include classic Slurpee flavors, such as Hostess Twinkies with a creamy Cherry Slurpee filling and a Drumstick Slurpee Blue Raspberry Vanilla cone.

The first 7-Eleven store opened in Dallas in 1927, when the founder and manager of what was then called Southland Ice Company began selling eggs, milk and other necessities in ice cream parlors.

There are currently 1,298 7-Eleven stores in Texas, which is 14% of the total number of branches nationwide. After California, Texas is home to the second largest number of 7-Eleven stores in the country.
