Meagan Good Addresses Jonathan Majors Dating Rumors

Meagan Good knows better than to waste her energy on the rumors that are circulating about her. But at the end of the day, she’s still human.

During the press campaign promoting her new film Divorce in black with actor Cory Hardrick, Good has opened up about her oft-discussed relationship.

Well-documented by the media, the film’s stars have gone through very public divorces in the past two years. Good and Hollywood executive DeVon Franklin split in 2022 after 10 years of marriage. And in 2023, Hardrict and actress Tia Mowry split after 14 years of marriage. In their new film, the recent divorcees play Dallas and Ava; a married couple who go through the breakdown of their fictional relationship on screen.

During a recent conversation with Angie Martinez on the “IRL” podcast, Good opened up about her emotions and how she’s learning not to care about what others think, but admitted that there are still comments that touch on a sore spot.

“I think the only thing that pisses me off is people saying I’m doing this for a PR stunt. I’m like, have you ever seen me do anything for a PR stunt? Have I ever dated anyone for money? The truth is, the people that I dated for money, not only did I not take their money and I didn’t make my own money my whole life, but you didn’t even know I was dating them,” Good said in a video of her conversation with Martinez, which was posted Friday (July 12).

Good has been dating actor Jonathan Majors for the past year, and their romance was first publicized at the height of Majors’ 2023 assault case against his ex-girlfriend. He was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment, a crime he was found guilty of in December 2023. But the actress has been by her beau’s side throughout multiple court hearings, including his sentencing in April 2024.

Good addressed the rumors that her relationship with Majors is a PR stunt. “I would never do that,” she told Martinez. “But (in) the same breath, I think it has less to do with me and what people think of me and more to do with projection, insecurity, you know, judgment that’s not really based on the person, but on the person judging, (those) experiences that have hurt them,” Good added.

The couple have been photographed together more often over the past few months, as Majors has reciprocated Good’s support and appeared by her side on numerous red carpets, including the recent premiere of Divorce in black.

The film, written, produced and directed by Tyler Perry, was released on Prime Video on Thursday (July 11).
