Parks on tap at Gorgas Park

6300 Ridge Ave, Manayunk
July 31st – August 4th

This weekend, Gorgas Park will host the Parks on Tap traveling beer garden in Manayunk/Roxborough. Benefiting the Fairmount Park Conservancy and Gorgas Park itself, the event will feature eight draft beers from Mainstay, 2SP, Conshohocken Brewing, Downeast Cider, and Dogfish Head. Canned drinks, cocktails, and an extensive menu of burgers, cheesesteaks, salads, and more will also be available. The park will be open from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM Wednesday through Friday, and from noon to 10:00 PM Saturday and Sunday.

The Lightning Thief Musical

An action-packed performance comes to West Chester this weekend with this epic tale. Relive the iconic children’s novel, The Lightning Thiefon the main stage at the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center. Follow demigod Percy Jackson as he journeys to the underworld to recover Zeus’ master lightning bolt, prevent a war between the gods, and resolve a family trauma. Catch a Saturday or Sunday matinee at 1:00 p.m. or catch the 7:00 p.m. shows on Friday and Saturday.

First Friday in Coatesville Carnival Style

Downtown Coatesville
August 2nd

Come to Coatesville for an evening of carnival fun and a chance to win some amazing prizes. The downtown area is packed with live entertainment, delicious food, and family-friendly games, and shops stay open until 9:00 PM for the evening event. The fun continues until 10:00 PM with The Sounds of Summer at Gateway Park.

Philadelphia Union will face Cruz Azul in the opening match of the League Cup

The two titans will clash in Chester this weekend. The eighth-ranked club in North America, Mexico City-based Cruz Azul, travel to Chester County for a showdown with the 19th-ranked Philadelphia Union. After defeating New England, Nashville and Charlotte, the Union is on a three-game winning streak and is looking to continue its streak against Machine.

Eight downtown Ardmore eateries are celebrating Restaurant Week with set-price menus ranging from $20, $30 and $40. Additionally, starting Aug. 1, all participating restaurants are pledging a portion of their proceeds to Narberth Ambulance.

Valley Forge Trolley Tours

Celebrate summer by reliving our nation’s history this weekend. Enjoy Valley Forge in comfort as this 90-minute guided trolley tour takes guests through one of the turning points of the Revolutionary War. The 10-mile Valley Forge National Park loop includes stops at Muhlenberg’s Brigade and Washington’s Headquarters, where guests can hop off and explore the camp on foot.

Valley Forge Casino Resorts Summer Concert Series

This year’s annual Valley Beach Music Festival kicked off Memorial Day weekend at Valley Forge Casino Resort with Shot of Southern. Every Saturday for the rest of the summer, a new artist will take the Valley Beach stage with a set list from 8-11 p.m.
