Multichoice Uganda announces new football season, heralding exciting start to European football calendar – theinsider.ug

Rinaldi Jamugisa makes a comment

Pay-TV provider MultiChoice Uganda today announced the start of the new football season, which will kick off with a highly anticipated derby match between Manchester City and Manchester United in the FA Charity Shield on Saturday 10th August in London.

Announcing the new season in Kalerwe, Kampala, Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda, said the match between the Premier League winners and the FA Cup winners will be the start of what promises to be an exciting football season.

Football fans in Uganda and across Africa can look forward to a wide range of football events, from league games to all UEFA European Cup matches.

“DStv and GOtv viewers can look forward to the renewal of their long-standing relationships with the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A. On European nights, they will be treated to thrilling action from the Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Conference League, ensuring a season of thrilling, top-flight football,” said Jamugisa.

Jamugisa encouraged viewers to prepare for an exciting football adventure that will be broadcast on the SuperSport channel.

“At MultiChoice, we believe in football’s ability to bring people together, which is why we treat this time of year as a celebration of that unity. This year’s football season is shaping up to be our best yet, just based on the transfer activity we’ve seen in pre-season,” he said.

It is therefore important, he added, that our customers prepare for the spectacle that we have in store for them by renewing their subscriptions well in advance and not waiting for D-day. English Premier League fans are eagerly awaiting who will end Man City’s dominance. Meanwhile, in La Liga, the addition of Kylian Mbappe seems certain to secure another league trophy for Real Madrid. In Italy, will the appointment of Thiago Motta awaken the sleeping giant in Juventus? These are the reasons, and many more, why our viewers should keep their eyes glued to their screens this year.

Jamugisa emphasized that the company is trying to facilitate viewers’ access to content, making the process more convenient.

“Because we understand that our viewers love football, we have deliberately made sure that they can access it at their convenience. Customers can now make payments through our apps, My DStv and MyGOtv, in addition to other methods such as USSD using *206#. We are enabling our customers to enjoy the convenience of DStv and GOtv subscriptions.

For example, instead of calling our call centres to report errors and queries, customers can contact us via WhatsApp or use chatbots on our apps and websites to get help from our customer service teams who can efficiently provide them with the support they need.

MultiChoice Uganda is at the forefront of delivering the best sports and local content to viewers, which sets it apart from other pay TV providers. Football fans are encouraged to renew their subscriptions or join as new customers to ensure they have a front row seat to an exciting smorgasbord of great football action.

Subscribers who prefer other content can watch other sports such as WWE, Formula 1, WRC, as well as local content on Pearl Magic and Pearl Magic Prime channels, as well as children’s content, movies, documentaries and breaking news.

The football season will run from August 2024 to June 2025 and will be broadcast on channels 222, 223 on DStv and 366 on GOtv.
