T-Boz has been touring for more than 30 years, and the TLC singer and Glad, Scents that Take You Back spokeswoman has some crazy stories about life on the road.

Even though she loves her girl group’s fans, who call themselves the TLC Army, she’s had some interesting objects thrown at her by fans during her performance.

“Bras, panties and car keys were thrown at me,” she reveals in an exclusive edition of the latest issue Us Weeklynow on newsstands. “I threw away my car keys. Like, ‘Girl, you almost hit me in the face. Don’t scratch my money machine!'”

In recent years, many musicians have spoken openly about the dangers of fans throwing objects at them during performances.

When HUSH performed in Australia in April, the singer threatened to end her set when cellphones and shoes flew onto the stage.

“I’ll leave,” she said, picking up the object that had almost hit her. “Don’t throw up any cell phones. I’m human. This is crazy.”

Last year, Bebe Rexha suffered a bruise under her eye that required stitches after a concertgoer in New York threw a phone at her.

Despite the dangers of live performance and the occasional near-injury to fans, T-Boz feels a deep bond with TLC Army.

“They always sit in the front row, I’ve known them since they were about 10 years old and I’ve seen them have children,” she says. Us.

Pre-show ritual

I am a carefree person, I just don’t like noise. I have to let everything through my head, so I like to be quiet and I don’t like to talk.

The best gift from a fan

This is going to sound weird, so don’t judge. I love (Halloween (character) Michael Myers. (A fan) got me an autograph from the guy who played the original Michael Myers (Nickname Castle). I was like, “Close the front door.” I’ve been watching this since I was 8. I’m 54. That tells me I’m invested in this movie.

(The TLC Army) give me the best gifts. And they give my kids the best gifts. They’ve become my friends. They check up on me, and I check up on them.

They give me sentimental things and they know my kids mean everything to me. So they give me iPad cases, things that I can wear when I’m on the road. They make me pillowcases so I can sleep with my kids and they can be with me all the time.

Favorite song to play live

I really love “The Case of the Fake People” from CrazySexyCool recently, which is weird because it wasn’t a single. This is, like, part 2 of “What About Your Friends.” Lately, I’ve really been loving that song, but I just like being there, just performing. Everyone laughs because I don’t have a favorite song. I just like performing. Period.

The perfect afterparty

Anything that’s full of energy and dancing. So I think it would be a nightclub in the 90s. It wasn’t about who was wearing what, you could just show up in a tank top, sweatpants, and sneakers, and just lay down on the dance floor, feel the music, and dance with a big group of friends.

I like to do afterparties at home, just dancing at home. We just go into my living room, turn up the volume and just go for it.
