Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel celebrate Gadar 2’s first anniversary, thank fans for box office tsunami: Blockbuster Hindustan ki asli | Bollywood

“A Year of Revolution in My Life Gadar 2”

Sharing a video from the film, Sunny wrote in the caption on Instagram, “A year of revolution in my life Gadar 2. The love you showered on everyone from all over the world, the way you made the release a festival, the way you honoured Tara Singh and his family, made theatres turn into carnivals, it was and will be unmatched for a long time.”

Gadar 2 marked Sunny’s return as one of Bollywood’s original action stars of the ’90s. “Your love breathed new life into all of us and this success belongs to you. With love Tara Singh. 1st year of Gadar 2, a Hindustan ki asli (real Indian) blockbuster,” he added in the caption.

The Hindi film also stars Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. It is a sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Gadar 2 is directed by Anil Sharma. The film is set during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. It was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the past year, grossing Rs. ₹686 crore in worldwide box office revenue, as per Sacnilk.com’s 2023 report.

Ameesha, who reprised her role as Sakina in the sequel, also expressed her gratitude to her fans. She shared a picture of herself and Sunny from Gadar 2 on Instagram and wrote, “Today as Gadar 2 celebrates its first anniversary – a heartfelt thank you for creating a TSUNAMI at the box office and making it a Hindustan ki asli blockbuster!! Congratulations to the team of Gadar 2 and the love of Sakina’s life, her Tara Singh, Sunny Deol.”

In Gadar 2, Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) returns to Pakistan to rescue her son Charanjeet “Jeete” Singh (played by Utkarsh Sharma), who was imprisoned during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1971. The first film was set during the partition period.
