Kyle Richards Reveals Family’s Reaction to Buying Cancelled Beverly Hills Series

During the recent Amazon live, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star reveals how her daughters reacted to Netflix’s cancellation Buying Beverly Hills after two seasons. The reality show featured Richards’ estranged husband, Mauricio Umanskiand her daughters: Farrah, 35, Alexia, 28, and Sophia, 24.

The former couple shares Alexia, Sophia and Portia, 16, and Umansky also helped raise Farrah, whom Richards welcomed into his first marriage to Guraish Aldjufrie. Farrah, Alexia and Sophia are real estate agents at The Agency, which is owned by Umansky.

Responding to a viewer on his live channel who asked how fans can “bring back” I’m buying Beverly Hills, and what her daughters thought of the news, Richards said: “You can make a lot of noise on Instagram. Tag me, I’ll repost it. I’ll see what I can do.”

“My girls, actually, you know, it’s funny, because they never wanted to be on TV. It’s not their thing. They’re all businesswomen. They’re just interested in business. They thought filming was very overwhelming. Buying Beverly Hills. So many times they came to me with tears in their eyes.

The Bravo star stated that her daughters “never cared about being on TV,” once again noting that her daughters are “overwhelmed” and don’t understand how it’s possible for their mom to be on TV for so long.

Richards said Alexia “cried one day when she had to find three things to wear.”

She added that her daughters were ultimately “not very upset” about the show’s cancellation. “They would love it if it happened again, but they’re very focused on selling the property, so I’m proud of them,” Richards said.

As for “upset” fans, she noted, “So many people are like, ‘Why?’ I’ve seen articles like, ‘Why would they do that?’ So who knows? You never know what’s going to happen with it.”

Buying Beverly Hills was in full production when Richards and Umansky’s separation made headlines. Early in the season, the two were open about some of the issues they were dealing with, and by the end, they had to be brutally honest about everything with their daughters in sometimes painful conversations.

Meanwhile, season 13 Real Housewives of Beverly Hills highlighted Richards’ marital problems with Umansky, but it wasn’t until the season finale that they were forced to have a real conversation about their separation – after an article appeared in PEOPLE in July 2023 about their split. Although they had finished filming when the news broke, cameras returned to film a few additional scenes.

The couple’s current situation is that they remain separated, and Umansky has moved out of the Beverly Hills home he shared with Richards and their daughters.

Umansky lived under the same roof for nearly a year after announcing their separation while the couple considered their next move. The 54-year-old eventually found a studio apartment in West Hollywood, where he moved in in April.

Fans can prepare to watch the rest of Richards and Umansky’s split unfold, as the 55-year-old confirmed she will return to RHOBH for its 14th season, which recently wrapped filming.
