Groundbreaking autonomous taxi to be revealed next month – Car News

Reports from the United States claim that Tesla will unveil its much-anticipated autonomous vehicle Robotaxi next month at the Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, California.

According to Bloomberg, the robotaxi will be presented on October 10, two months after the originally planned premiere.

The American publication reported in July that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had delayed the August launch because he was not satisfied with the prototype design.

It’s not entirely clear why Tesla chose Warner Bros. as its showcase location, but sources close to Robotaxi’s development who chose to remain anonymous reportedly said that Bloomberg that Tesla was collecting data there.

Perhaps Tesla is planning to conduct a demonstration at the facility, simulating real-world traffic conditions.

Little is known about the highly anticipated Robotaxi, which Tesla has been teasing the public with for years. Musk originally said the Robotaxi would arrive in 2020.

In 2022, Musk confirmed that the Robotaxi would have no steering wheel or pedals and would be priced as low as a bus or subway ticket.

“It will be highly optimized for autonomy — meaning it will have no steering wheel, no pedals. There are a lot of other innovations that I think are pretty exciting, but it is fundamentally optimized to achieve the lowest fully considered cost per mile or kilometer, everything considered,” the billionaire Tesla founder said in 2022.

Tesla is also said to be working on its own ride-sharing app, which will supposedly utilize Robotaxes and consumer vehicles.

More details will be revealed next month after Robotaxi’s official launch, assuming it actually happens.
