Lady Gaga returns as a full-fledged movie star, promoting her new film Joker: Films A Double.

As one of the world’s most prolific fashionistas, Gaga has appeared countless times at awards shows and premieres of her previous two films, A Star is Born AND Gucci House.

Still, while they were always lavish, glamorous and dramatic, they didn’t always reflect the sophisticated and avant-garde style that made her such a red carpet sensation when she first burst onto the scene in the late 2000s.

We’re happy to report that Gaga managed to combine the best of both worlds with the first premiere of the Joker sequel.

Walking the red carpet at Venice Film Festival on Wednesday, Gaga wore a plunging black dress and an enormous, custom-made skirt, along with an even larger headpiece that might as well have been created by Philip Treacy.

She was also clearly in love with her fiancé Michael Polansky as they headed to the party.

Gaga stars as the new version of Batman’s iconic villain, Harley Quinn, in Folie À Deux, alongside Joaquin Phoenixwho reprises his Oscar-winning role as the Joker.

Unlike the first part, Folie À Deux features numerous songs and dance numbers, although all involved with the production are reluctant to call the film a musical.

The cast also includes Zazie Beetz (returning from the original Joker), Steve Coogan, Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener.

Joker: Folie À Deux is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, October 4.
