Who was the woman who sang in Tom Bombadil’s house? Here is your answer

Who is the woman singing in Tom Bombadil’s house in the Rings of Power season 2 finale? It’s a fair question, given that the voice remains a complete enigma.

The new episode introduces us to Tom Bombadil in live action for the first time and, naturally, there are still a lot of unanswered questions about this jolly fellow. We wouldn’t have it any other way…

But there is one question we think we can clear up, and that is the identity of his mysterious companion. Below, we look at Goldberry and his story in the works of JRR Tolkien.

Who is Goldberry in The Rings of Power? His History in The Lord of the Rings Explained

In Tolkien’s writings, Goldberry is the wife of Tom Bombadil. She is somewhat mysterious, as is her husband, but she has a deep connection to nature. She met Bombadil when she and her people were trying to capture him, but he was able to escape his predicament with the power of his voice. They married shortly after.

In The Fellowship of the Ring, Goldberry meets Frodo and the other Hobbits after Bombadil rescues them from a sticky situation with the tree Old Man Willow (not to be confused with Old Man Ironwood, who swallows the Stranger in The Rings of Power until Bombadil persuades him to release him again).

In the series, Goldberry is not seen, and Bombadil does not explain anything to the Stranger about the mysterious singer. However, we can assume that it is Goldberry, after all, who else but his whimsical wife could sing in Bombadil’s house?

It remains to be seen if we’ll ever see Goldberry on the show, but, for now, it seems certain that she’s in the cottage with her husband.
