Putin Has 2 Secret Sons Who Live in Isolation and Luxury: Report

Russian media report that Russian President Vladimir Putin has two sons who are being raised in isolation and luxury.

The report came from the Dossier Center, an investigative group operating in Russia, where the media is severely repressed.

Business Insider was unable to verify the report itself.

The article said the children were with Alina Kabaeva, a retired gymnast with whom Putin had long been rumored to have had an affair.

According to the report, the boys’ names are Ivan and Vladimir Jr.

They are said to live in a luxury housing estate, far away from people and do not even have contact with other children.

There have long been rumors that Putin has children with Kabaeva, but only now have their identities and details of their life been publicly revealed.

The Russian president fiercely guards the details of his private life, but it is known that he has two daughters with his ex-wife Lyudmila Putina.

Although he never publicly confirmed their identities, they are said to be Maria Vorontsova, a biologist, and Katerina Tikhonova, a businesswoman.

Putin reportedly began a relationship with Kabaeva after their divorce in 2008.

The Dossier Center report said Ivan Putin was born in 2015 in a private clinic in Lugano, Switzerland, while Vladimir Junior was born in 2019 in Moscow.

“On several occasions, Ivan Putin told his teachers and bodyguards… that when he was born, Vladimir Putin was so happy that he shouted, ‘Hurray! Finally! A boy!'” the report reads.

The Dossier Center is run by exiled Russian opposition figure Mikhail Khodorkovsky and has been publishing controversial articles on Putin and his circle since 2018.

The latest report said details of the children’s lives were closely guarded and the boys had been using “secret documents from childhood, which are mainly created for intelligence officers and persons under state protection.”

“Their dates of birth are known only to their closest relatives.”

They live a secluded life at Putin’s luxurious estate in Valdai, northwest of Moscow, where they are surrounded by tutors, nannies, sports coaches and security agents, the Dossier Center reported.

Valdai is Putin’s “personal favorite,” according to a 2021 report by associates of Alexander Navalny, the Russian dissident who died under suspicious circumstances in January.

The report said that visitors to the Valdai estate, including children, must undergo a two-week isolation. Putin himself reportedly insisted on this measure at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic for those who had contact with him.

The children spend their winters skiing in Sochi on the Black Sea, where Putin has another sprawling palace, the report said. They spend their summers on yachts, restricted to Russian waters in the wake of the war in Ukraine, it said.

“They must play mostly alone or with adults… They see their parents only late in the evening, and their peers mainly during large celebrations,” the Dossier Center wrote.

They are said to have private jets, armored trains, helicopters and yachts at their disposal.

As with their father, they are under tight security, according to the Dossier Center.

“Like Vladimir Putin, his sons have their own cups and drink only from them,” we read, while security officers “are always close to the children.”

During the investigation, posts were discovered on a website offering tutoring services for Russian elites, advertising jobs to tutor boys.

The advertisement is for teachers who can teach English and accept that they will not be able to leave the isolated estate where the children live.

As stated in the report, the salary would be $8,540 per month.

According to the report, tutors from South Africa are preferred because, following the war in Ukraine, they are perceived as having a less negative attitude towards Russia.

The report said the children rarely see Putin, but that “he treats his sons with even more respect than he once did his daughters.”

The article said that Putin is “the only person who can speak to them decisively.”

“None of them risks arguing with other children, so the boys grow up believing they are special. Their every whim is catered to, and they treat all the residences they live in as their own personal property,” the report reads.

He says that Ivan is a Disney enthusiast and likes to dress up as Disney characters. The Russian president, he says, disapproves and prefers Soviet-era cartoons.

As the report says, Putin and his elder son sometimes play hockey together at a special private ice rink at the Valdai estate.

Putin has been a dominant figure in Russian politics since 2000, and analysts have long speculated on who he will choose to succeed him.
