Unless you’re into fashion, you probably know Pip Edwards best as the ex-girlfriend of famous cricketer Michael Clarke.

But there’s much more to the 44-year-old designer.

Yes, she became a household name while working with Clarke. But long before that, she founded the lifestyle brand PE Nation, which pioneered the sportswear phenomenon.

In 2016, Edwards founded PE Nation with Claire Greaves, which became a huge success and gained a loyal following of customers who wanted their sportswear to make a fashionable statement.

Edwards, who is now the company’s sole creative director, grew it from a fashion start-up into a global sportswear giant with 95 retail stores worldwide.

Who is Pip Edwards?

Pip Edwards is an Australian fashion entrepreneur and creative director who began her career in the fashion industry with brands Ksubi and Sass & Bide.

After graduating in commerce and law from the University of Sydney, she joined the global risk team at Pricewaterhouse Coopers before moving into the fashion industry as PR Manager at Ksubi.

She then joined the Ksubi design team before moving on to Sass & Bide, where she first met future PE Nation co-founder Claire Greaves.

Edwards also worked at General Pants Co., where she served as director of design.

Why is Pip Edwards famous?

For many different reasons!

While she was already well-known in Australian fashion circles, she became a household name when she began dating retired Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke in 2020, a year after divorcing his wife Kyly.

Their relationship lasted just one year, but in early 2024, Edwards became the subject of a media storm when Clarke was filmed arguing with his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in Noosa, Queensland.

The footage shows Yarbrough yelling at Clarke, accusing him of cheating on him with Edwards.

The footage went viral, and the tragedy appeared on the front pages of newspapers across the country.

Asked then to comment on the confusion, Edwards responded bluntly.

“It’s definitely not my circus and I’d like to say the carnival is over,” Edwards said. The Daily Telegraph, 1966 ”Honestly, for me the most important thing is the global expansion of PE Nation.”

Who founded PE Nation?

Pip Edwards founded PE Nation with Claire Greaves in 2016.

Inspired by the street style of the 90s, this brand, alongside brands such as JAGGAD and Aje Athletica, has become one of the brands chosen by people who want to wear sportswear outside the gym or pilates studio.

Edwards became the sole creative director of PE Nation after Greaves (formerly Tregoning) left in March 2024.

Just six months later, Edwards announced she was also leaving the company to take up a position at Ksubi. Both she and Greaves retain shares in PE Nation.

In a statement posted on Instagram on September 5 announcing the news, Edwards wrote, “As fate would have it, today I announce my return to Ksubi as Creative Director—a true moment of closure.

“Since the beginning, Ksubi has been at the center of the global cultural spirit, evolving at the intersection of fashion, art and music. As part of the original team 20 years ago,

“I am excited to rejoin the talented Ksubi team and contribute to their impressive global success.”

Celebrities wearing PE Nation clothes included Jessica Alba, Rita Ora, Laura de Wit, Kate Bosworth and Vanessa Hudgens.

In 2018, Australian star Margot Robbie was photographed wearing a black PE Nation Dartford Cotton Jersey paired with a khaki Burberry backpack.

The Kardashians are also fans of the Hurricane Jacket – in a photo from 2017, Khloe Kardashian wore this jacket.

Kylie Jenner is also a client, having been spotted in public numerous times wearing PE Nation sports bras, crop tops, and leggings.

Does Pip Edwards have children?

Edwards has a son named Justice, who was born in 2006. His former partner is Dan Single, co-founder and designer of Ksubi.

Is Pip Edwards in a relationship?

At the beginning of 2024 Daily mail reported that Edwards was having an affair with Lachlan Thompson, CEO of developer Goldfields.

Edwards and Thompson were photographed holidaying together in Noosa around the same time as the Michael Clarke and Jade Yarbrough saga.
