Adam Driver Dreams of Utopia in ‘Megalopolis’ Trailer

September 5 (UPI) — Lionsgate releases new trailer for Francis Ford Coppola’s film Megalopoliswhich will premiere in September.

Adam Driver stars as Cesar Catalina, a visionary who wants to create a utopian community.

“Imagine today’s society as a branch of civilization that’s headed toward a dead end,” Cesar says in the trailer. “Is this the way we live, the only way we have?”

However, the mayor of New Rome, Franklyn Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), is not keen on change.

“Julia Cicero (Nathalie Emmanuel), the mayor’s daughter, is torn between them, her love for Cesar dividing her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she believes humanity deserves,” the official synopsis reads.

The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Shia LeBeouf, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Kathryn Hunter and Dustin Hoffman.

The sci-fi drama will premiere at The Ultimate IMAX Experience on September 23, and will hit theaters on September 27.
