50 Cent Explains Why Celibate Dating Helped Him

Late night host Stephen Colbert was clearly surprised when rapper and multimillionaire 50 Cent Jackson revealed his decision to become celibate. During his appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” Cent discussed his recent American Weekly cover story in which he talked about abstaining from sexual intercourse while dating.

“It says right there. Right there. It says, ‘Is he really celibate?’” the comedian said, pointing to the magazine. “50 Cent, are you celibate?”

“Listen, when you calm down, you can focus. Okay?” Cent replied. “It was good. I was good to myself.”

“Okay, but what’s the money for if you’re celibate?” Colbert asked, half-joking. “You know, there are a few motivating factors in our evolutionary biology, and celibacy is not one of them.”

The creator and producer of the programs “BMF” and “Power” stated that abstaining from sex allowed him to see through the trivial and insignificant aspects of a woman and get straight to the important details.

“Stephen, that’s when things start to get complicated, start to get confusing, because people come for different reasons,” the “In Da Club” artist explained. “And then, if, for example, you go on a date and nothing interests you, then in a way – I see you now. I said, ‘God, girl, you’re okay, but nothing is happening with you.'”

Colbert understands Cent’s perspective

“Oh, but the intoxication of romantic desire clouds your ability to pursue that person,” Colbert replied.

“Of course, Stephen,” Cent said.

Colbert finally got around to the subject of marriage and asked if Cent had ever been married.

“Can I ask if you have been married in the past?” the TV presenter asked.

“No, no. I’m safe. I’m not a happy hostage,” Cent quickly replied as the audience burst into laughter.

“You’ve never been married?” Colbert repeated.

“No. I’m here, man. I’m free,” he said. Get rich or die trying the actor assured. “I’ve made some mistakes — but not that one.”
