Coconino County Fair Turns Seventy-Five

“I am so grateful for the Coconino County Fair,” said Carla Casciola Davis of Flagstaff.

For 75 years, the Coconino County Fair has been a highly anticipated event for residents, tourists and families throughout northern Arizona. This year’s lineup includes bands, a variety of fairground food options, carnival rides, farm animals and even camels.

I am so grateful for the Coconino County Fair,” said Carla Casciola Davis of Flagstaff. “It still has that small-town feel. I especially enjoyed the School Days portion. I walked through it and saw so many students from different schools I knew. We have such talented people in our town and it showed in the entries to the fair.”

In addition to such delicacies as corn dogs, french fries and hash browns, the selection of dishes was wide, from typical Mexican to Hawaiian.

Live music was played on the main stage, and the entertainment stage featured magic, juggling, and a Shakespeare show. Exhibits included art, rocks, tractors, miniature trains, and more.

“The Coconino County Fair represents and celebrates the culture of this community,” said Andy Bertelsen, Coconino County Supervisor. “We look forward to it every year. We have 4-H kids with their animals and so much more. We have so many different cultures and we are lucky to be a part of it.” FBN
