Filipinas are global women, just like in the fashion industry. Three of the Philippines’ biggest stars will be walking the runway at New York Fashion Week in Filipino designers.

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, Miss Universe 2021 R’Bonney Gabriel and actress Kyline Alcantara will walk the runway for acclaimed Filipino designers Chris Nick and Chynna Mamawal, highlighting Filipino creativity on one of fashion’s biggest stages.

On September 7, Mamawal will debut her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which will feature 20 fashion pieces. Among the models who will represent her is Filipino-American beauty queen and designer Gabriel, who recently presented her first Filipino collection, “How to Survive on Land and Sea” at Bench Fashion Week in Bonifacio Global City.

Even though Gabriel had only been in the Philippines for a few months, he was determined to take on the challenge of sourcing materials, overseeing production, and navigating the intricacies of the local fashion industry.

Later that evening, Nick will present his Spring/Summer 2025 collection, with Kapuso stars Dee and Alcantara set to grace the runway. Both Dee and Alcantara are already in the United States, eagerly preparing for the event.

Dee, who recently signed with an international modeling agency, shared behind-the-scenes photos from New York City on Instagram, jokingly captioning her post, “Mabuheyyy.”

Meanwhile, Alcantara celebrated her 22nd birthday in New York City, sharing photos from her special day with the caption, “how I celebrated my birthday…” Fans and friends flooded the comments with birthday wishes.

As an added attraction, Filipinxt, a Filipino brand, has partnered with the New York Makeup Academy to elevate the models’ looks. Their team of hair and makeup experts will ensure that the models exude the designers’ vision, ensuring perfection on the runway.
