Chicago police release photo of vehicle wanted in Garfield Park car crash that killed 55-year-old cyclist John Ward

Chicago police have released a photo of a vehicle wanted in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Garfield Park that killed bicyclist John Ward, 55, on Thursday.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police are asking for help finding a driver suspected of causing a hit-and-run crash that killed a cyclist on the city’s West Side.

The victim, 55-year-old John Ward, was riding his bicycle through Garfield Park when he was hit just before 8:30 p.m. Aug. 24 in the 3500 block of West Washington Boulevard.

Ward died from his injuries Thursday, Chicago police said. He was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Chicago Police Department has released a surveillance photo of the wanted car.

The vehicle is a blue 1997 Lincoln Town Car with Illinois license plates ES85500.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.

Police are continuing to investigate as no further information about the accident has been released.
