50 Cent Performs at Poppi New York Fashion Week

50 Cent took over New York Fashion Week with a surprise appearance at Poppi’s VIP party.

The 49-year-old rapper sang his biggest hits on Friday, September 6, at the grand opening of Poppi World in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. 50 Cent wowed the crowd with performances of “Candy Shop,” “PIMP” and “In Da Club” on a cherry-shaped stage.

Friday’s NYFW event was intended to promote a new flavor of Cherry Cola, a popular soda brand.

“When two favorites maximize their shared kill, everyone wins. Ripe cherries combine with refreshing cola to create a juicy twist on a classic drink,” the new drink’s description on the website reads.

50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) was in good company on Friday as Hollywood stars, athletes and TikTok creators came out to toast the soda brand. Emily Ratajkowski, Camille Kostek, Brooks Nader, Suni Lee, Kevin Love AND Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars Lisa Barlow AND Meredith’s signs everyone went out to the party.

Guests were treated to a Poppi-themed event as the space was decorated in cherry-red colors to mimic the flavor profile of the cherry-cola drink. There were even immersive installations, including infinity fridges and a TV wall, and interactive stations from partners Snif, Yam NYC, CharCharms, and Bluestone Lane.

Poppi’s NYFW party is just the latest for 50 Cent.

“I’m evaluating the level of success and victories that I’ve had. I’ve far exceeded anyone’s expectations of me,” 50 Cent revealed exclusively in his August issue Us Weekly cover story. “I think my longevity and staying power in the industry has surprised many, but that’s what drives me. (Besides) I’m in no rush to reach billionaire status.”

He continued: “I got to the point where I don’t want anything I don’t have. What’s the rush? I’ve bought every car I’ve ever wanted, multiple times.”

50 Cent has also found success as an actor and producer, and now he’s jumping into another career as an author. Everything he does is aimed at creating an “empire” for his 12-year-old son Sire, whom he shares with his ex Daphne Joy Narvaez.

“You start building a legacy by doing more sophisticated things. People remember people who helped others more than people who just accumulated wealth,” 50 Cent said. “They’re going to ask, ‘How did he help others? How significant was his success if it didn’t affect other people’s lives?’ … What’s left of me is going to be for him. In the end, that’s what it’s all about.”

Poppi World will be open to the public on Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8 at 105 Wooster Street, offering exclusive cherry-themed merchandise and brand promotions.
