Casting for the new Harry Potter the series is officially open.

In connection with the new HBO series, a poster was published with an appeal to aspiring actors and actresses, and the station confirmed the authenticity of the invitation Diversity.

PEOPLE has also reached out to HBO for further comment.

Students aged 9 to 11 are sought for the roles of the main characters: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.

“We can currently only consider children aged 9-11 in April 2025 who are resident in the UK or Ireland,” the advert says. “Please only apply if you meet the requirements.”

The ad goes on to say that “qualified contractors” will also be considered without regard to race, ethnicity, gender identity and other factors.

“We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting,” the poster read. “For each role, we ask that qualified performers be submitted, regardless of ethnicity, gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law, unless otherwise specifically noted.”

Applicants are asked to submit a first video of no more than 30 seconds that includes a poem or story that is not their own. Harry Potter“Please use your own accent,” the conversation added.

Then the actors and actresses are asked to record a second, maximum one-minute video in which they talk about themselves.

Candidates’ second videos should include “your date of birth, height, and city of residence. In addition, describe any family member, friend, or pet you are particularly close to. Use your accent.”

In the meantime, people have until October 31 to submit their applications, and filming will eventually take place in the UK.

News of a reboot of the series, which brought actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson to big-screen fame, first emerged in April 2023.

“Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon, and it’s clear there is an enduring love and desire for the wizarding world,” Casey Bloys, CEO and president of HBO and Max, said at the time.

He added: “Working in partnership with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, this new Max Original series will delve into each of the iconic books that fans have enjoyed for years.”
