UPPER SADDLE RIVER — The borough will celebrate its 130th anniversary by reintroducing Upper Saddle River Day on Sept. 28.

The celebration of family fun, community spirit and local history is hosted by the nonprofit USR Cares, and proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing a new ambulance for the Upper Saddle River Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

“There was USR Day many years ago, and USR Cares started Oktoberfest in 2017,” said USR Cares President Louisa Quarto. “This year, the mayor asked us to do USR Day instead.”

Mayor Arman Fardanesh promoted the event to “celebrate the rich history of Upper Saddle River.”

“It will be an opportunity to showcase our social organizations, raise money for a worthy cause and give back to those who contribute so much to the lives of our residents,” said the mayor.
