‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 33 Premieres Tuesday with Two Utah Dancers

Tuesday night will see the premiere of the 33rd season of “Dancing With the Stars,” with 13 celebrity couples and professional dancers set to compete in a dance competition show.

Two of this year’s “Dancing With the Stars” contestants — Ezra Sosa and Rylee Arnold — are from Utah.

The show will premiere at 6 p.m. MTD and will air live from Los Angeles, ABC reports.

Who is Ezra Sosa?

According to People magazine, Sosa was previously a member of the show’s dance crew and this is his first season as a professional with a celebrity partner.

His promotion to professional this season, replacing Artem Chigvintsev, who was arrested last month, was announced on September 3.

Sosa joined the show in 2021 as a member of the dance team and last season replaced Chigvintsev for one episode after Chigvintsev was diagnosed with COVID-19.

The 23-year-old dancer hails from Provo, Utah. Sosa’s parents emigrated from Argentina and Mexico to the U.S.

Sosa’s dance partner this season is Anna Delvey. According to Forbes, Delvey is “a convicted fraudster and con artist who inspired Netflix to create ‘Inventing Anna.’”

According to People magazine, Sosa is the first professional Latin dancer in over a decade to appear on the show.

Who is Rylee Arnold?

According to ABC, Arnold is the younger sister of former Dancing with the Stars contestant and Mirrorball champion Lindsay Arnold.

This is the second season of Arnold, who at 19 is the show’s youngest contestant.

Last year, Arnold was paired with reality star Harry Jowsey.

Arnold’s partner this season is Stephen Nedoroscik, two-time Olympic bronze medalist in gymnastics.

Before joining “Dancing with the Stars,” Arnold competed on “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” in 2018 and was partnered with actor Miles Brown.

Arnold is also from Provo. After graduating from Timpview High School, she moved to Los Angeles to compete on “Dancing with the Stars,” according to The US Sun.
