Jennings is also the cousin of rugby star Michael Jennings.

Fiji coach Rob Sherman has also called up Wellington Olympic AFC defender Gabrieli Matanisiga and Suva’s Kavaia Rawaqa.

Remeuru Takiata and Muni Shivam Naidu will be absent due to commitments, while Scott Wara is serving the remainder of his two-match suspension.

England international Josh Laqeretabua will also miss the game due to injury.

Team manager Kartik Reddy said the addition is aimed at strengthening the squad as the team is hoping for a good run in the qualifying round.

He says Fiji will fight for the 1.5 spots available to OFC in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications.

The squad will go into training on 29 September at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba, with the final 23-man squad to be announced on 5 October.

Reddy confirms that team captain Roy Krishna will join the team on October 5 after taking up club commitments.

The Bula Boys will begin their campaign against Solomon Islands on October 10 in Suva at 7:00pm.

They will then face Papua New Guinea on November 14 and New Caledonia on November 17. Both matches will be played at the PNG Football Stadium.
